March 1st, Sunday, 2pm Chanoyu by definition is a Japanese ceremony consisting of the serving and taking of tea in accordance with an elaborate ritual. But more than that, chanoyu a form of Japanese culture. To understand chanoyu, in a sense, helps understanding Japanese culture. Our Teisyu (host) for this event is former Crestone resident, Ms. Naoko Iwamoto. The tea will be served in a modern style; Guest participants will have chairs to sit on during the ceremony. A bowl of matcha (dense green tea) made of Natural Agriculture green tea and a healthy sweet will be served. This event is free to the public. Call 256-5284 for more information.
